Robert’s is the kind of tale we all love to hear. The country boy who, through passion, commitment and hard work, has worked his way to the top of his field.

Robert has trained under David Finch since 1998 and is now based at Finch Farm where he manages the day to day operations. Robert is currently campaigning at world cup level on the brown gelding, ‘It’s Richie”, finishing the 2007 season third overall on the Australia wide World Cup leader board.

Not only has he proven himself to be a fantastic and consistent competitor, but also a successful and well rounded trainer. He is heavily involved with the early training of the Finch Farm youngstock; taking them right through from initial ground work and breaking to the competition arena; and always with the calmness and consistency that is the Finch Farm way. Robert is also training a number of local showjumping riders with great success and is available for clinics or individual lessons.

• Currently studying NCAS Level 1 coaching and is actively coaching
• Working and nutritional management of competition horses from Grand Prix Level to beginner
• Additional training of horses for all disciplines
• Starting young horses\breaking in
• Qld Young Riders Squad (travelling to NZ to compete) 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
• Captain of Qld Young Riders Squad 2005
• Qld Country Junior Champion 01
• Qld Young Riders Championships 2nd in 2002 and 2005
• Robert trained and competed in Germany and the United Kingdom
